Is this you?

There’s more to being ready to work with me and than simply being a stressed out working parent…….there’d be no-one left in the workplace if that was the case!

To really be successful, to get that lifestyle you have chosen for yourself and your family, you need to be driven.  You need to have a great work ethic and not be afraid of hard work, of learning new skills and developing yourself.  You also need to conquer any fear of success.  While that may sound crazy, it’s often a fear of success that keeps people trapped in a life they don’t enjoy.

You need to believe that you can achieve anything you set out to achieve, way before you know how to do it, safe in the knowledge that you can master pretty much anything. There are the odd exceptions to this rule but those are generally when you have absolutely no control.  For example I am never going to hold the Guinness World Record for being the world’s shortest man on account of the face I am a woman and and quite tall!

But those things that you can control, learn and master are yours for the taking! Oh and you aren’t afraid of getting things wrong.  Society and the workplace can be so judgemental these days so that making a mistake or getting it wrong can feel like the world is going to end. You know it’s not; you know that the worst thing that can happen is not trying.  That making mistakes is how we grow and become better and are just a normal part of our lives.

Timing is everything

Only you will know when you’ve got that burning desire to change your life and the life of your family. Only you will know when it’s the right time to work with me.  But my own experience plus experience of working with others tell me that there’s generally a few hints happening.  Your tolerance of the day-to-day stuff will reduce; each new issue will feel bigger to get over. You’ll feel like you’re on a treadmill doing the same thing every day, exhausted and not sure how to get off. You’ll count down to weekends and holidays and the time in between will feel more like something to get through instead of a source of joy. And the big red flag?  Talking or posting about ‘hump day’! Plus you’ll become resentful; of work getting in the way of your family and of your family commitments not allowing you pursue your career in the way that you want. And those impossible

decisions, where there is no good answer, will come thick and fast.

The success factor

It is said that success leaves clues and there are certainly a few things that are common in successful people. They focus on the long-term goals and rarely get distracted from them.  They are incredibly resilient, bouncing back quickly from the many bumps in the road on their journey to success.  They are fully committed; to their success, to the daily actions they need to take regardless of whether it’s a good day or a bad day. And they believe, truly and deeply, that they are worth more, that they deserve to live their dream life with no compromise.
